Hawaii, Soul of Ukulele

Author of "The Rabbi's Cat", Joann Sfar is also a comics artist and creator, and has had a passion for the Ukulele for more than 15 years. A fan of Hawaiian music and Tiki culture, he has however never been to Hawaii. Today, he flies to this island of the antipodes to discover the motherland of this mythical instrument.

His goal is to meet, throughout the archipelago, those who make and play this small guitar with a fascinating history. An instrument charged with the famous Hawaiian spirit of Aloha. Hospitality, joy, love, respect for others, Aloha is lived and felt everywhere in Hawaii. This is what Joann, brushes in hand, will discover through his encounters with musicians, dancers, activists and artisans.
