In 2025, we will celebrate the centenary of the death of one of the world's most played composers, Erik Satie, the father of minimalist music.
Erik Satie is a true enigma. Eccentric, brilliant and funny, he constantly mocked his own life and that of others, as if nothing mattered, not even - especially not - music, which was his life's passion. He would say that he was “born too young into a world that was too old.”
Following a dual biographical and musicological line, the film brings Satie to life through his own texts, brimming with humor and despair, and through the archival testimonies of his prestigious fellow travelers - Debussy, Ravel, Picasso, Tzara... But above all, this film gives a voice to the international artists who interpret Satie today - including Kety Fusco, Thylacine, Alice Sara Ott and Anne-Lise Gastaldi - testifying his profound influence on modern music.
