Maritime accidents, sea storms, shipwrecks... Every year, on the French coast, more than 6,000 people call for assistance at sea. To come to their aid, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and whatever weather conditions, 7,000 volunteer rescuers spread over 219 stations are ready to intervene. Present on 19,000 km of coastlines, they perform first aid and bring the injured and shipwrecked to shore.
Whether it's a sailboat stranded on the rocks, an engine explosion or a boat sinking into the depths, thanks to their know-how, their equipment and their fleet of 600 boats, these extreme rescuers are able to respond effectively to any rescue situation.
Thanks to on-board cameras and testimonies, this series takes us closer to their activity to discover the daily life of these ordinary heroes.
