Third largest island in the Pacific, New Caledonia is home to a unique flora and fauna. More than 3500 species of plants have been recorded as well as 4300 animals and 1000 different types of fish.
The island is a fragment of the ancient continent of Gondwana that drifted away some 250 million years ago. Unique species that existed at that time have been preserved.
It is on this endemic fauna and flora that the spotlight is on: in a globalized world, an island with an ecosystem almost preserved from any external influence seems a remarkable singularity that must be talked about. The endemic species of New Caledonia are the characters of the film and constitute a marvelous scenery at the end of the world.
