Simon Wiesenthal, a survivor of the death camps, is hunting down his torturers, from the camp Kapos to Mengele, the mad doctor of Auschwitz. Lawyer and historian Serge Klarsfeld, whose father was deported and murdered, has devoted his life to searching for Nazi leaders still at large. He married Beate, a German non-Jew who denounces the silence of her people and the laws which allow these criminals to remain unpunished.
As a result of their efforts, Gestapo killers such as Kurt Lischka, Herbert Hagen and Klaus Barbie who was responsible for the death of Jean Moulin, came to be unmasked and put on trial.
For the first time, a film recounts the story of the long pursuit of Nazis in hiding, from 1945 to the present day. Many decades of investigation, setbacks, trials and dramas, brought about by these three extraordinary individuals and through unpublished archive footage.
