Pierre, Tiphaine and Céline grew up in the French countryside in the eighties, their heads full of dreams. They imagined leaving, having ticked all the boxes of "success". And yet, they're still here, wondering when and where the social decline experienced by children in the outskirts of the cities happened to them.
When they were kids, earning a living meant having a job, buying a used car that wasn't too bad. It meant being able to go away for the weekend, buy a motorcycle, clothes once in a while, and brand-name things, as long as they were on sale. Making a living meant succeeding, being like everyone else. What's left of all that? And more importantly, what do the children of rural France dream of today?
Through the everyday livesof life of three childhood friends, the film depicts the reality of the neglected French countryside, highlighting the daily lives of people who never left, or returned.
