THE ORIGAMI CODE

Folding and unfolding processes are key to life: blossoms, the metamorphosis of insects, the human brain and our genes...

Origami, the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, provides today a surprising inspiration for the most innovative scientific researches to better understand and duplicate these universal nature's folding principles.

Engineers think "origami" to reshape the way we produce manufactured goods. In medicine, researchers develop origami-inspired artificial skin, artificial retina for blind people. Biologists use the new "science of folding" to investigate how our genes and proteins are formed and function. Will the origami code lead to the ultimate stage in bionics?
