We think we know squirrels, but these tiny creatures are surprisingly complex, intrepid and intelligent animals, whose remarkable strength, agility and wisdom are all on display as they prove their resilience again and again.

 

Through the eyes of a clever, courageous female red squirrel, this film takes us into the magnificent pine and chestnut forest that is her home. Her mission: to survive, and safely raise her kittens in a world that is both generous and unkind. From her perspective, we will witness how she - and her supporting characters - deliberately and accidentally keep their ancient forest healthy through all four seasons. A fresh, in-depth look at this wooden place and its rich ecosystem.
