Holy Diplomacy: the secret power of the Vatican

Is the Vatican the world’s best Foreign Intelligence Agency? Taking us behind the scenes of the Holy See, this documentary lifts the veil on the secret diplomacy of Pope Francis, the first Latin American and the first Jesuit to lead the Roman Catholic Church.

Just like a fast-paced thriller, this documentary takes a closer look at the Vatican’s diplomatic policies, from the Pope’s fight for a better acceptation of migrants in Europe, to his attempts to jugulate terrorism and his tense relationship with Trump’s America. Important figures of the Vatican, such as diplomats and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, agreed to face the camera, giving us some answers.

The final act of this documentary takes place in Havana, the Cuban capital, revealing a sealed pact between Pope Francis and Barack Obama. It’s another proof of the formidable ability of Holy See’s diplomats to turn into real secret agents when it’s needed. Sometimes, they obtain results like no other.
