GEORGIA: THE STONE SEEKERS

Louis and Orianne, two young stonemasons eager to discover new things, embark on a fantastic cycling trip across Georgia: along the way, they hope to hone their skills and explore the deep ties that bind the country's inhabitants to stone.

Georgia is known as the “Pearl of the Caucasus”. A gigantic open-air quarry, Georgia is the cradle of an age-old connection between the human and mineral kingdoms. Indeed, it is here that the oldest man-made tools in Eurasia have been found. To this day, stone remains a powerful social, cultural and spiritual link between people. En route, through villages and mountains, our two young craftsmen will meet communities entirely dedicated to working with stone.

As they travel and meet people along the way, Louis and Orianne will learn about age-old craft traditions, while marveling at the breathtaking beauty of geological landscapes and iconic stone monuments.
