Everybody has a story

Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, New Caledonia, Saint-Pierre, Miquelon... More than other territories, because they were often exposed to the troubled periods of the 19th and 20th centuries, the French overseas territories are full of testimonies, travels, distance and closeness, arrivals and departures, traces of colonization.

Using the personal archives of anonymous individuals (diaries, letters and photographs), this series looks at the fate of men and women immersed in ultramarine history through the prism of their intimate stories. If in most cases the characters of each episode are individuals forgotten by posterity, their lives are nevertheless rich, as the memories they have left behind can attest.

Through the narrative told by their descendants, and thanks to additional archive images of the time, their singular story is reconstructed in the era in which they lived, to tell another story of the Overseas.
