On October 27, 2005, 15-year-old Bouna Traoré and 17-year-old Zyed Benna, two French schoolboys from Clichy-sous-Bois, were electrocuted when they took refuge from the police inside an electrical transformer. The tragedy triggers three weeks of rioting across France, leading to a state of emergency.
20 years on, this series explores the shattered lives of the families, friends and politicians involved. Through their testimonies, it reveals a deep social rift and sheds light on a key event in contemporary French history.
