CLOUDS: A FLUFFY MYSTERY

Sometimes white and fluffy in fine weather, sometimes dark and threatening under stormy skies, they float above our heads: clouds are with us everywhere. Sometimes the carriers of our daydreams, we think we know them well, yet clouds remain a great enigma for science.

How do clouds form within the atmospheric system? Why do they play such an essential role in climate dynamics? Does human activity have an impact on cloud formation? What role do they play in climate change?

To find out, new research tools are being deployed and large-scale scientific missions are being launched all over the world, even in space. A journey of all latitudes, longitudes and altitudes, to meet the great family of clouds.
