The vicuña wool of Inca emperors, the angel-skin coral of Egyptian queens, the caviar of Russian Tsars... Because of their natural characteristics, certain animals have been coveted by the luxury industry since the dawn of time. But at a time when animal welfare and sustainable development are major issues, and certain species are endangered, this exploitation are rightly being denounced.
Is this industry gradually becoming aware of its excesses? Is it ready to reconsider its use of animal materials? And if so, how? Are sustainable conservation and exploitation of these species really possible?
This documentary series takes us into the heart of factories, private collections and luxury boutiques, to observe and question the means now in place to ensure the protection of these animals prized by the world's biggest industries.
